Seven of 18 University of Hawaii-Manoa teams, including women's cross country, which managed a perfect score of 1,000, topped the NCAA's latest four-year Division I Academic Progress Rate of 970.

Figures were announced by the NCAA Tuesday which uses the APR as an annual scorecard of academic standing.

Women's cross country earned an NCAA Public Recognition Award for its standing as among the top 10 percent in its sport.

Other UH sports topping the 970 mark were women's volleyball (995), women's outdoor track (992), indoor track (992), women's swimming (983), women's soccer (982) and men's swimming (978).

None of UH's sports received penalties.

Football's 959, the school's best ever, topped the national average in its sport of 946 as did men's basketball which had a 957 edging the average of 945. Baseball (950) fell nine points short of the average.
