Farrington Highway in Maili reopened

Police have reopened a section of Farrington Highway in Maili that was closed while officers investigated a suspicious object near the highway.
Police closed Farrington Highway between Kaukama Road and Hookele Street about 12:45 p.m. Police investigators recovered a pipe-like object that was found at Maili Beach Park, and took it to an undisclosed location for disposal. Police gave no other details on the object.
Police announced at 2:26 p.m. that the road was reopened.
