Hawaii County firefighters extinguished a 2-acre brush fire on Hamakua farmland Thursday afternoon.
The blaze closed Highway 240 near the 4 mile marker as tradewinds fanned the flames towards the road.
Firefighters arrived at 12:18 p.m. and contained the fire by 2 p.m. The fire department helicopter conducted water drops and fire was extinguished at 4 p.m.
