All lanes of Kalakaua Avenue have been reopened after traffic was diverted due to a building fire.
The fire at 1687 Kalakaua burned a corner of a first floor vacant building but was put out eight minutes after firefighters received the alarm at 12:54 p.m., Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig said.
Seelig said it appears the fire started on the front left corner of the building where there was an old automobile body shop.
