Lahaina man critically injured in moped crash

A 65-year-old man lost control of his moped and crashed into a palm tree in Lahaina Sunday afternoon causing critical injuries to the driver, Maui police said.
The accident happened at 4:10 p.m. on Lower Honoapiilani Road near Hale Malia Place. The Lahaina man driving the moped went to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition, police said. He was not wearing a helmet.
