Less than four hours after an American Savings Bank robbery in Kahului, Maui detectives arrested a 44-year-old suspect.
The male suspect was arrest in the area of Hale Nanea, off Amala Place, in Kahului, about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said a man entered the American Savings Bank, 73 S. Puunene Ave., about 11:35 a.m. and demanded money from the teller. The male, who requested that the money be placed in an envelope, informed the teller that he had a weapon, but no weapons were observed.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the male exited on foot and fled in an unknown direction.
