Brush fire chars 8 acres in Maili

Firefighters put out a brush fire that burned about eight acres in Maili this afternoon.
About 32 firefighters responded to the 2:32 p.m. call to a large, vacant lot at Holt Road and Kulaaupuni near Maili Stream, said Honolulu fire Capt. Robert Main.
The fire was declared under control about 4 p.m., Main said. The origin of the blaze remains undetermined.
