Firefighters put out a small brush fire caused by a burning vehicle on Saturday near Kaena Point.
About a dozen firefighters responded to the fire about two miles past the end of Farrington Highway on the North Shore, said Honolulu fire Capt. Gary Lum.
Firefighters were hampered by the remoteness of the fire and transported water by tankers to the scene. The small brush fire was extinguished by 1 p.m., about an hour and 15 minutes after the original call.
Police said the vehicle was determined to be stolen and suspect the vehicle was intentionally set to fire.
