Teen held in alleged gang assault in Waikiki

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly stealing a man’s wallet during a gang assault in Waikiki early Sunday morning.

Police said the victim, a 35-year-old man, was walking along Kuhio Avenue around 2:10 a.m. when three males approached him and began assaulting him. 

Witnesses told police that the 15-year-old boy grabbed the man’s wallet from his pants before he and the other suspects fled down Kapuni Street. The boy was located nearby and arrested for second-degree robbery.

The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
