Two people went to the hospital in critical, but stable condition following a two-car accident this morning on Kamehameha Highway near Kualoa District Park.

The victims were described by paramedics as a 20-year-old female and a 19-year-old male. No other details were immediately available.

Police closed one lane of Kamehameha Highway because of the traffic accident and contraflowed traffic around the scene.

The closure of a Kahuku-bound lane was reported at 6:32 a.m.

Police also cleared another accident on Farrington Highway at Leokane Street in Waipahu after a traffic accident. That closure was reported at 5:53 a.m.
