Crews control brushfire near Kahului airport

Maui firefighters have brought a stubborn brushfire near Kahului Airport under control.
The fire, near the airport’s east ramp, was first reported around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. It was deemed under control at 9 p.m, according to a Maui Fire Department spokesperson.
It is not yet known how large of an area was involved or whether any structures were threatened.
