Fire destroyed a 900-square-foot cabin on Makaha Ridge Road in Kokee, Kauai, on Sunday night and damaged a nearby cabin, according to a Kauai County news release.

Kauai police received a call about the fire at 9:43 p.m. saying a cabin was engulfed in flames, the news release said, and when firefighters arrived on the scene, they found that a nearby cabin was also involved in the fire.

The crews removed the corrugated roofing that had collapsed onto the fully engulfed cabin and then proceeded to the fire in the second cabin, the news release said. Damage was contained to the living room area.

Both cabins were unoccupied, and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
