A traffic incident in Ewa Beach escalated into a brawl that left a teen-ager and two men with stab wounds at Oneula Beach Park Saturday night, police said.

A 17-year-old boy and two men — ages 23 and 24 — were stabbed with a knife shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday and were taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and deadly weapons charges.

The stabbings allegedly began when the suspect and one of the victims were involved in a traffic incident in front of the suspect's home, police said.

Words were exchanged and the victim drove away, but later returned with several other males in various vehicles, police said.

The suspect kicked one of the vehicles when the males refused to leave, police said.

When members of the suspect's family arrived, the argument escalated and a fight broke out in the suspect's driveway.

Some of the suspect's relatives were allegedly assaulted and the suspect later allegedly stabbed the teenager and two men, police said.

According to Emergency Medical Service scanner transmissions, a 24-year-old man suffered a deep stab wound to the back of his neck and a shallower 10-inch wound to his chest.

Another man, identified as a friend of the first victim, suffered stab wounds to his left thigh and right calf.

The issue of whether to close Oneula Beach Park — which is also known as Haubush — during evening hours came up at the Ewa Neighborhood Board's last meeting, board member Matthew S. LoPresti said in an email to the Star-Advertiser.

"Many people abuse this by all-night tailgating and partying," LoPresti wrote. "At least I was able to get the board to support asking HPD parks detail to significantly increase their presence there."
