MANILA, Philippines >> Manny Pacquiao’s supporters in the Philippines are rejoicing over his latest victory, though many feared the worst before the contentious points decision was announced.

Unlike in his past 14 straight victories, many watching in Pacquiao’s home country fell silent at the end of his bout against Mexican challenger Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas.

They erupted in cheers when Pacquiao’s arms were raised in triumph after two of the three judges ruled in his favor despite a strong finish by Marquez.

Philippines President Benigno Aquino III praised Pacquiao’s determination. The country’s military chief Gen. Eduardo Oban also praised the 32-year-old Pacquiao — but said he expected a better ending.

Get ready for the next Paquiao-Marquez IV fight. A lot of people gonna get rich. Close fights with doubts on both sides are good. Remember the Frazier-Ali fights. Excites everybody. Forget Mayweather. Coward is just waiting for them to damage each other so he can have an easy victory. Hey Pacman. Better review tapes of this fight very carefully. Marquez studied your moves so was prepared for you. Now you start changing your style and strategy for the next fight. Your multitasking habits trying to be a Senator, singer, game show host, and so on are too distracting. Your brain is getting damaged with each bout so start thinking retirement. Think about your future. Not other people's.
