BYU-Hawaii advances in NCAA II volleyball regional

Shih Ting Chen put down 21 kills and Lauren Hagemeyer added 20 to lead fourth-seeded Brigham Young-Hawaii to a 25-21, 25-21, 15-25, 30-28 win over Seattle Pacific in an NCAA II West Regional first-round match today in San Bernardino, Calif.

It was the 16th consecutive win for the Seasiders (19-3), who will take on the winner of today's later match between No. 1 Cal State San Bernardino and Alaska Anchorage in a semifinal tomorrow.

In today's earlier match, Hawaii-Hilo saw its season ended with a four-set loss to Sonoma State.
