Police arrest man in Waikele purse snatching

Honolulu police arrested a man who allegedly stole a woman's purse and dragged her a short distance when she tried to hang on to it.
Police said the victim, 21, was sitting at a bus stop on Lumiaina Street in the Waikele shopping district when a man approached her and grabbed her purse at about 7:34 p.m. Thursday. The woman clung to her purse and the suspect dragged her along until she let go, police said.
Officers located the suspect, 22, and arrested him for investigation of second-degree robbery.
