After a round of golf this afternoon, President Barack Obama went out to dinner at Alan Wongs's with a group of friends and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng.
The president's motorcade left Kailua at 7:30 p.m. and arrived at Alan Wong's just before 8 p.m. in a party of about 10 people. Alan Wong greeted the president and first lady with a hug as they arrived, according to a reporter who was in the restaurant.
Obama is a regular at Alan Wong's and has even had Wong cook for him at a White House function.
Earlier in the day, Obama golfed at the Koolau Golf Club, one of the more difficult courses on Oahu.
He arrived just before noon and stayed at the course until about 6:30 p.m.
Koolau is a bit of a departure for the president, who typically plays at the Kaneohe Klipper course on Marine Corps Base Hawaii when in Hawaii. That's where he played his first two rounds of golf earlier in the trip.
On other vacations, Obama has also golfed at the Mid-Pacific Country Club, Luana Hills and at Olomana, all in Kailua not far from his vacation rental.
Obama played with Hawaii friends Mike Ramos, Greg Orme and Bobby Titcomb, the same men he played with on Monday at the Klipper course.
Obama and his family are expected to remain in Hawaii until shortly after New Year's Day.
