By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

A small earthquake shook parts of Hawaii island early Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The magnitude-3.7 quake struck offshore at 3:32 a.m. about 14 miles east-northeast of Hilo at a depth of about 28 miles, according to the USGS.

There were no reports of damage but the shaking was felt as far away as Kapaau and Hawi in the island's northern section, more than 100 miles west of the epicenter, according to responses from the public received by the USGS.
