Man held in alleged shoplifting at Waikele

Police arrested a 43-year-old man after he allegedly attempted to steal several pairs of shoes from the Sports Authority store in Waikele.
According to police, a loss prevention officer at the store saw the man place the shoes in a bag and leave the store without paying for them. The officer contacted police, who arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree theft.
