Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel helped a group of lost hikers find their way out from the Manoa trail under a full mooon overnight.
According to HFD spokesperson Capt. Gary Lum, the hikers — two men and a woman — set out this morning from the Nuuanu-Pali area and traveled along the Koolau mountain range to Manoa, where they got lost after leaving a marked trail.
The group called for help at 6:40 p.m.
Because the hikers are in a steep area inaccessible to helicopter assistance, rescue personnel made their way to them on foot and helped them hike out at about 3:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
