Oahu single-family home price down 3% in 2011 from 2010

Both the median price and volume of sales for single-family homes on Oahu fell modestly in 2011 from the year before, according to a report released today by the Honolulu Board of Realtors.

There were 2,974 homes sold last year at a median price of $575,000, according to the report. That compared with 3,057 sales in 2010 at  a median price of $593,300.

For the month of December there were 268 homes sold at a median price of $605,000. That compared with 312 sales at a median price of $585,000 in December 2010.

For condominiums, the sales volume rose in 2011, while the median price fell. There were 4,029 condo sales last year at a median price of $300,000. That compared with 3,977 sales at a median price of $ 305,000 in 2010.

In December, there were 333 condos sold at a median price of $285,000. That compared with 356 sales at a median price of $300,000 in December 2010.
