A 42-year-old Waimanalo man is facing two counts of abusing a family or household member after he allegedly choked a 16-year-old girl and punched a 17-year-old girl in the face several times during an argument in his home this week, police report.

A police report only said the man is related to the two girls.

Police said the man and the 16 year-old girl were arguing Monday afternoon when the argument escalated and the suspect grabbed the girl's throat. The 17-year-old girl tried to intervene and the suspect punched her several times on the face.

The suspect later called patrol officers and was arrested Tuesday afternoon at his Huli Street address. He faces two charges of abuse of family or household member.
