A 29-year-old Kaneohe man is back at the Kahi Mohala Behavorial Facility on Fort Weaver Road in Ewa Beach after he was spotted by a police officer Thursday afternoon near Kailua Beach Park.
The patient had left the mental health facility’s cafeteria during dinner time on Jan. 5.
A police officer recognized the patient from a crime bulletin and arrested him for second-degree escape.
This is the second Kahi Mohala escapee who was returned to custody this week.
On Monday, a 25-year-old woman left the Ewa Beach facility and was recaptured Wednesday by a police officer, who while on a traffic stop on Kalakaua Ave., observed the suspect acting suspiciously. A check revealed that she was wanted for having unlawfully left the Kahi Mohala Behavioral Facility. The suspect was arrested without incident.
