The Maui Fire Department ended its three-day search for a missing 55-year-old kayaker tonight.

Lee Mainaga, of the Maui Fire Department, said firefighters searched by air, sea, and land today, but didn't find any sign of Torry Durrell.

Durrell's kayak was found about 200 yards off Kalepolepo Beach Park Tuesday. The search began on Wednesday after a neighbor reported him missing.

The Coast Guard also assisted in the search, covering 272 square miles in two days, but suspended its search at 6:18 p.m. Thursday.

Durrell is 55 years old, has grey hair and blue eyes.
