Plane flips over on landing at Dillingham Airfield

A Cessna 172 single-engine plane carrying three people on board flipped over following a hard land at Dillingham Airfield Wednesday afternoon.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
A FAA spokesman said the aircraft made a hard landing and flipped over during an insturctional flight. The plane suffered substantial damage.
The instructor and two students on board the Cessna 172 plane, registered to Noah Flying Inc., were not injured in the 3:15 p.m. incident.
On Jan. 26, a 20-year-old student pilot also experienced a hard landing when the landing gear on her single-engine Cessna collapsed at Honolulu Airport. She was not injured.
That incident happened on the runway near Lagoon Drive at 12:12 p.m. The incident did not disrupt airport operations, state Department of Transportation spokesman Dan Meisenzahl reported. The aircraft is registered to Hawaii Aircraft Leasing and operated by Moore Air Flight School.
