A teen-aged hiker suffered possible arm and head injuries and was airlifted from Koko Head trail this morning after he tripped and fell while hiking back down the trail, Honolulu Fire Capt. Gary Lum said.

The boy was making his way down the trail when he fell about one-third of the way from the top, Lum said.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:04 a.m. and the fire department's Air-1 helicopter had transferred him to paramedics at 9:55 a.m., Lum said.
