Power back on in Makaha

Power was restored this evening to about 900 Waianae residents after a transformer caught fire on a utility pole along Farrington Highway near the Makaha Surfside condominium.

A Hawaiian Electric spokeswoman said crews finished repairs about 7:50 p.m. after nearly three hours of work.
