Police were able to find the driver of a blue Chevy Trailblazer charged with firing two shots at another driver during a road rage attack late Friday night because of his personalized license plate BIGILN.

On Sunday, police charged Douglas Freeman, 65, with first-degree terroristic threatening after he allegedly cut off another vehicle on the H-1 freeway about 10 p.m. Friday and then fired two shots at the car. The bullets struck the vehicle, but the 23-year-old driver was unharmed.

Freeman also faces charges of reckless endangerment and a firearms violation.

Freeman appeared today in Honolulu District Court and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Freeman was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. He was initially arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.

I wonder what really happenen that he pulled out a gun! I'm not saying his right for pullling out a gun or even firing it but, the other driver said on the news that he been cut off before; does that mean he cut the guy off because he was weaving in and out of traffic! or was it him weaving in and out of traffic! Remember the guy pulling the gun was 65yrs. old and the other guy is in his twenties. Why was this 65yr. old guy carring a gun, did he have troulbe before on the road! I would like to hear his reason for carring a gun and firing it!

I want to know what happened, too. However, having trouble on the road, in prior incidents does not justify carrying a firearm and using it on someone else.

Hawaii drivers, tailgating thinking the it'll make the car in front go faster, not letting other drives change lane (even at mergers), flashing the bird, running red lights, etc.

When someone around me is in a hurry I don't step in their way, I move over and let them go. Who am I to decide who gets to go where on the road, that's so controlling! I don't need some guy trying to jump in my trunk every time I have slow down, if they run off and get in an accident that's not my responsibility. My responsibility is to keep my family safe in my car.
