Kauai police used a stun gun to subdue an 18-year-old Kapaa High School student on campus Wednesday after he allegedly threatened officers and resisted arrest.
The student was wanted for investigation of robbery and assault regarding a Jan. 19 incident. A police officer recognized him on campus at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The suspect, described as 6 feet tall and about 270 pounds, threatened two officers and resisted as they attempted to handcuff him, police said. The officers warned the suspect they would use a stun gun if he continued to resist, and an officer used a stun gun on the student, police said.
Police arrested him on suspicion of robbery, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, resisting arrest and terroristic threatening.
