Rainbows win opener against Shockers

Pi'ikea Kitamura went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs and Zack Swasey doubled, tripled and drove in two runs to lead Hawaii to a 6-3 victory over Wichita State in the opener of a four-game set on Thursday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Matt Sisto extended his consecutive innings streak without allowing an earned run to 29 before the Shockers (5-4) scored three in the eighth.

Sisto (3-0) allowed three runs on nine hits in 7 2/3 innings to earn his third straight victory.

Brent Harrison allowed a two-run single with two outs in the eighth before retiring the final four batters of the game.

The series continues on Friday night at 6:35.
