Police arrested two 18-year-old Hawaii Kai men who allegedly tried to break into a woman's East Honolulu home while she was inside.

The 42-year-old woman heard someone trying to enter her home about 12:50 p.m. Wednesday and looked out the window to see one man outside her door and another man outside her kitchen window with the screen removed, trying to take out a glass louver, police said. The men fled when the woman yelled out to them.

Plain clothes officers tracked the men down and arrested them at the Hawaii Kai Town Center about 1:50 p.m. Friday for investigation of attempted first-degree burglary.

I called 911 about two suspicious guys walking around Ainapo St on Wednesday just about that time, maybe a little earlier. Sounds like they are the same ones. Good job HPD.

Apes walking upright. Does anyone know the current State/Federal Hawaii law regarding the rights the resident has in protecting their self in this case? Would the victim in this case be arrested and prosecuted, if they shot, wounded, or killed these intruders?
