Capping a dangerous week for motorcycle riders on Oahu, three motorcyclists were injured — one critically — in three separate crashes Saturday night.

The first occurred around 5:20 p.m., when a man believed to be in his 20s apparently lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on the H-3 freeway near Mokapu Road.

The rider suffered a broken foot and other non-life-threatening injures.

At 9:27, a man riding a pocket-style miniature motorcycle was apparently clipped by an oncoming car on Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa.

According to scanner reports, the man swerved to avoid the car, which was described as traveling at a high rate of speed. The car made contact with the bike, sending the rider flying some 15 feet across the pavement.

The rider, identified in scanner reports as a 28-year-old man, suffered a broken ankle and other non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.

A few minutes later, another man in his 20s was injured when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle while traveling up Kulia Street near Uluwale Street in Wahiawa and struck a parked car.

The man was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

The accidents follow two motorcycle-related fatalities last week.

On Tuesday, 43-year-old Warren White of Aiea was critically injured when his motorcycle collided with an oncoming car on Kaonohi Street. White died three days later.

On Friday, a 36-year-old David Keaweehu III of Waimanalo was killed when his motorcycle rear-ended a car on Kapiolani Boulevard near Ward Avenue.

To date, there have been six motorcycle fatalities on Oahu this year, compared to one at the same time last year.
