This year’s Hawaii International Film Festival will feature 34 films over a week.

Countries represented in next month’s 15th annual spring showcase include China, France, Taiwan, Japan, Denmark and Norway. The films include 24 Hawaii premieres, eight U.S. premieres and one return engagement.

The return engagement is the award-winning movie “The Descendants,” which will have a free screening on April 14. Music supervisor Dondi Bastone and soundtrack musicians Jeff Peterson and Cyril Pahinui will answer questions from the audience after the screening.

The films will be showcased at Regal Dole Cannery Stadium 18 Theatres and IMAX in Honolulu from April 13 to 19.
