Injured hiker lifted from trail above Lanikai

A hiker who fell and couldn’t walk out of a trail was rescued by a fire helicopter in Lanikai.
The man, in his 40s, was hiking with two other people on Kaiwa Ridge Trail when he slipped and hit his knee on a rock about noon Saturday, said Honolulu fire Capt. Carlton Yamada.
A fire helicopter plucked the man from the trail and took him to a nearby park where he was transferred to paramedics who took him to the hospital.
