Man, 21, accused of attempting to strangle, threatening woman in Waimanalo

Police arrested a man accused of threatening and later attempting to strangle a woman at a Waimanalo home.
Police said that the man, 21, got into an argument with the victim, 20, about 5 a.m. Friday and then began strangling her. The woman said that on the previous day, the man had threatened her with a dangerous instrument, according to police.
The suspect, of Hihimanu Street, was arrested at the residence on suspicion of abuse of a household member and first-degree terroristic threatening.
