Officer punched in face while breaking up argument in Waianae

A 38-year-old man allegedly punched a police officer in the face Saturday night while the officer was trying to break up an argument in Waianae, police said.

The officer was not seriously injured, police said.

The officer was the first to respond to an argument involving several men shortly after 10 p.m., police said.

The suspect allegedly punched the officer in the side of the face before the suspect was subdued and arrested for investigation of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
