The personal incomes of Kauai residents increased by 3.7 percent in 2010 from 2009 on a per capita basis, the fastest growth rate of any county in the state, the federal government reported today.

Personal incomes grew by 2.7 percent in Hawaii County, by 2.4 percent in Honolulu County and by 1.8 percent in Maui County, according to a report released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. The statewide average increase was 2.4 percent.

On a dollar basis, Honolulu County led in 2010 with per capita personal income of $45,216. Kauai was second at $35,304, followed by Maui at $34,461 and Hawaii County at $30,844. The statewide average was $41,550.
