Ewa Beach man arrested after hit-and-run in Waikiki

Honolulu police arrested an Ewa Beach man who allegedly hit a bicyclist in Waikiki with his van and then left the scene of the accident, police said.
The suspect, 34, was driving a van that collided with a bicyclist on Ala Wai Boulevard near Pau Street about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said. The man stopped momentarily and then fled the scene, police said. Officers arrested him an hour later on University Avenue for negligent injury and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The victim, a 19-year-old male, went to the Queen's Medical Center, in serious condition.
