Police arrest teenager who tried to run from officers

By Star-Advertiser staff

A 14-year-old boy tried to flee from officers Friday night after he was allegedly caught driving a stolen moped in Kalihi, police said.

The boy abandoned the moped when an officer attempted to pull him over about 8:30 p.m. for a traffic violation, police said.

Officers captured the boy and found the moped had been stolen. They arrested him for investigation of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and refusing to stop.
