Lifeguards rescued a 22-year-old woman after she nearly drowned Saturday afternoon at Hanauma Bay.
The woman had been snorkeling and was found face down in the water by lifeguards, according to dispatch communications.
She had a pulse, but lifeguards had to help her with rescue breathing, a lifeguard dispatcher said. The woman left the beach conscious.
Paramedics took the woman to the hospital in serious condition about 2:40 p.m., an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said.
