By Star-Advertiser staff

Hawaii finished winless on a road trip for the second time this season after UC Davis defeated the Rainbows 6-3 on Monday at Dobbins Stadium in Davis, Calif.

Kyle Dowdy (2-3), the first of five pitchers used by Hawaii coach Mike Trapasso, allowed three runs on four hits over the first two innings to take the loss.

Zack Swasey went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Collin Bennett reached base three times, doubling and scoring a run while driving in his 99th career RBI for the Rainbows (28-22), who have lost four in a row.

Hawaii is 4-11 on the road this season and 1-5 against nonconference opponents.

The Rainbows return home for the final series of the regular season against Nevada beginning Thursday at Les Murakami Stadium. UH can earn a share of the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title with a sweep of the Wolf Pack.
