Manager locks door when gunman tries to rob Aiea KFC

Police are searching for a gunman who tried to rob the Aiea branch of KFC at closing time Wednesday night.
Police said the man in his 20s brandished a handgun and attempted to enter the restaurant on Kamehameha Highway just after 10 p.m.
But the manager closed and secured the doors before the robbery suspect could get in. The manager then called police.
The suspect fled.
