About 6,000 customers lost power for a short time Thursday night because of power outages in the Pauoa area and Palolo overnight, Hawaiian Electric Co. spokesman Darren Pai said.

Both outages were wind-related, Pai said.

The Pauoa outage began at about 11 p.m. and affected 4,000 customers. Crews restored electricity by about 11:30 p.m.

An 20-minute outage in Palolo followed at about 12:30 a.m., affecting about 2,000 customers, Pai said.
