A brush fire in the coastal Hanapepe area was under control less then two hours after it flared up, the Kauai County Fire Department reported on Saturday afternoon.
The fire posed no threat to people or buildings in the area, but county park rangers did help with evacuating a few people, the department reported.
The call came in at 12:09 p.m., and the fire was contained to about 20 acres on the Hanapepe Bay side of the Port Allen airport by 1:30 p.m., the department said. The fire was extinguished less than an hour later.
