Two weary goats have been stuck on a ledge above Makapuu for five days, unable to go up or down, according to environmental activist Carroll Cox.

The situation was assessed today by Dave Smith, Oahu branch manager of the state Division of Forestry and Wildlife, said Cox, but the animals won’t be removed before Monday.

John Klinger, visiting from Fort Myers, Fla., who saw them Friday and again Saturday, estimated they were about 100 feet above the road.

Cox said he is worried about the animals but also motorists if the goats should fall onto the roadway.
