Man arrested for allegedly injuring sister with chair

Police arrested a 27-year-old Waimanalo man Thursday after he allegedly injured his sister with a chair Sunday during an argument.
Police said following the argument with a 24-year-old woman, the suspect left the Waiamanalo home on Poliala street.
Police found the suspect at 7:13 a.m. Thursday near Waimanalo Beach Park and tried to arrest him. During a brief struggle the arresting officer sustained minor injuries.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, resisting arrest and violation of a protective order, as well as an outstanding warrant.
