Wahiawa-bound lanes reopen after H-2 brushfire

By Star-Advertiser staff

POSTED:

Honolulu police reopened all lanes of the H-2 Freeway after firefighters extinguished a brush fire before the Ka Uka Boulevard off-ramp.

Three Honolulu Fire Department companies responded to the brush fire at 7:14 a.m. and had the blaze extinguished 30 minutes later.

Two right lanes of the H-2 Freeway were closed for about 30 minutes so firefighters could use the shoulder of the road to fight the fire.

Heavy smoke from the fire hindered  visibility on the freeway.
