By Associated Press

POSTED:

The Honolulu Fire Department helicopter airlifted two hikers out the Maunawili Falls trail after they suffered minor injuries in separate incidents Saturday.

A man in his 20s injured his leg at about 11 a.m. near the falls, said Capt. Carlton Yamada, a Fire Department spokesman. The helicopter airlifted him to paramedics at Maunawili District Park, Yamada said.

The second incident happened about an hour later when woman in her 20s injured her back after jumping in the pool at the base of the falls, Yamada said. The Fire Department helicopter also airlifted her to Maunawili District Park and waiting paramedics.
