Search for possible missing diver under way on Waianae Coast

By Star-Advertiser staff

The discovery of a dive float with speared fish still attached has triggered a search for a possible missing diver in Pokai Bay on the Waianae Coast.

The dive float and the fish were found 200 yards offshore of Cabana's Beach Monday morning.

Rescue crews with the Coast Guard, the Honolulu Fire Department, the Honolulu Police Department and Ocean Safety are searching the vicinity of Cabana's Beach between LahiLahi Point and Waianae Boat Harbor in Pokai Bay.

The Coast Guard said the captain of a dive vessel from Dolphin Excursions recovered a dive float with recently speared fish attached and a severed tether line floating offshore of Cabana's Beach.
