Woman injured falling from rocks on Maui

An 18-year-old North Carolina woman was rescued by Maui County fire personnel Monday afternoon after falling about 25 feet while climbing on rocks in Iao Valley.
Firefighters said she sustained injuries to her lower back and leg.
Fire personnel hiked 3/4 of a mile into the trail, stabilized the patient, and 45 minutes later carried her out to safety and into the ambulance.
She was then transported to a hospital. Injuries were non-life-threatening, firefighters said.
